St Austell announced as event partners of Farmfoods European Legends Links Championship

One of Cornwall’s most historic breweries is the latest business to come on board as event partners of this year’s Farmfoods European Legends Links Championship.

Entirely family-owned, St Austell Brewery was, founded in 1851, is one of Cornwall’s biggest employers with more than 1,000 people operating under the name. Its high-quality beer is supplied to pubs, bars and supermarkets both throughout the UK and overseas. 

Ian Blunt, the independent company’s sales and distribution director, said: “We are delighted to be announced as event partners. As one of the most famous businesses in the Cornwall region, it made perfect sense for us to partner with this inaugural event which takes place in one of Cornwall’s most beautiful areas at Trevose.”

The brewery will also be showcasing its fantastic range of products in the tented village during the event.

“We cannot wait to attend the championship in June and see some of the stars in action” Mr Blunt added.

The four-day event, which takes between 20-23 June will see some of the biggest names in international golf, and legends of the European Tour and Ryder Cup in action at Trevose Golf and Country Club near Padstow.

Some of the star names who will be taking part include event host and 1991 Masters winner Ian Woosnam OBE, 1999 Open champion Paul Lawrie OBE, Ryder Cup star Jean van de Velde, and European Tour winners Costantino Rocca and Peter Baker.
